Examine Everything You Hear From The People Of Your Age

Examine:

Examine, may Allaah have mercy upon you, everything you hear from the people of your age.

His statement: “Examine, may Allaah have mercy upon you, everything you hear from the people of your age, particularly. Do not be hasty and do not enter into a matter until you ask and investigate: have any of the Companions of the Prophet, may Allaah’s praise and His salutations be upon him, spoken about this matter or any of the scholars….” Up until the end of what he stated in this section.

So I say:

May Allaah have mercy upon the author, as he has guided the people to benefit with this statement, and commanded that one act cautiously and with deliberation when entering into newly developed or arisen affairs. So if you hear someone inviting and calling to the methodology of the group known as the “Muslim Brotherhood”, then do not be hasty in accepting it, and do not accept his praise of this methodology. If you hear someone calling to the methodologies of the followers of Muhammad Surror, or the followers of Sayed Qutb, or the group known as “Jama’at at-Tableegh”, then do not be hasty in accepting their methodologies and entering yourself upon these ways until you ask, investigate, and research.

You should consider carefully and research with someone who has an understanding of that methodology from those who have not actually embraced it, or from one who had previously accepted that way and then abandoned it, or with one who has read sufficiently about them until they can clarify to you their reality. For if you act hastily, you will find yourself in a difficult situation and within the net and web of partisanship, which only wants to take possession of you and enter you into their ranks or organization. Then you will stand as one who innovates in the religion and defends those who innovate in the religion. So I say: from Allaah we come and to Him shall we return!

How many have been sacrificed to these methodologies by hastily entering into them, how many have been victimized within their dangerous trap before they understood their errors and deficiencies!!

As certainly this is what occurs to them in these organizations and groups. Due to this I clearly warn you as the author of this text, meaning the author of the book Sharh as-Sunnah, has warned you. I warn you against hastily entering these groups and parties, and I call you to act carefully, cautiously, and to investigate. Take and read from the books authored in criticism of these groups and parties. Take from such works, meaning these books, and read about these groups and parties before you enter into any of them. And if you find the truth, then do not give preference to anything above it. As your call and way is not correct-and before this, your Islaam is not correct – until it is truly supported and born witness to by the message of testifying that Allaah alone is to be worshipped.

Moreover, you are not personally responsible for this person or that group, rather fear Allaah regarding yourself and be wary of falling victim to the effects of these groups and parties. As you will be regretful of what comes from that, sooner or later. And it is not enough for you to heal and rectify your state and condition after the damage and harm has already occurred and you have already been severely harmed or destroyed. No! By Allaah. As Allaah the Exalted has said,

﴾1. By al-‘Asr (the time). 2. Verily! Man is in loss, 3. Except those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth, and recommend one another to patience. ﴿-(Surah al-‘Asr: 1-3). And the success is from Allaah. ¹
