Sheikh Muhammad Baazmool, may Allaah preserve him said,
"It is not from the way of the first three generations of Muslims to engage in a great deal of speech and talking. Indeed they used to say,
"The one who speaks frequently makes frequent mistakes and errors." Some of them were known to remain silent to the degree that people would think that they were unintelligent or feebleminded. Yet this was not the case, their silence was only due to their fear of Allaah regarding the speech.."
