Sheikh Muqbil's Advice to the Youth of Islaam (Part 3 of 4)
This entry is part 3 of 4 in the series Sheikh Muqbil's Advice to the Youth of Islaam

5- That you restrict yourself to only acting upon evidence from the Book of Allaah or from the authentic Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah, may Allaah’s praise and His salutations be upon him and his family, as found in the statement of Allaah, Glorified and Exalted, Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow not any Auliyaa’ besides Him (Allaah). Little do you remember! ﴿ -(Surah Surah al-‘Araaf: 3) and the statement of the Most High Whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)… ﴿ -(Surah al-Hasr: 7)

6- That you abandon revolting against the rulers and authorities except in the case of witnessing from them open and indisputable disbelief regarding which you have a clear proof from Allaah, as is mentioned in the hadeeth of Ubaidah which is found in both the collections of Imaam Bukharee and Imaam Muslim. This is in view of the consequences that generally result from revolting against them from the triggering and instigating of severe trials and the killing of innocent people. Allaah, the Most Perfect and the Most High, says, And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allaah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him﴿ -(Surah an-Nisaa: 93). And the hadeeth of Abee Bakara, may Allaah be pleased with him, also found in the two well known ‘Saheeh’ collections wherein he says, {I heard Allaah’s Apostle saying, ‘If two Muslims meet each other with their swords then (both) the killer and the killed one are in the (Hell) Fire. }2

7- To avoid having an inclination or partiality towards those who are unjust, due to the statement of the Most High, And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you… ﴿ -(Surah Hud: 113) as well as the statement of the Most High, And had We not made you stand firm, you would nearly have inclined to them a little. In that case, We would have made you taste a double portion (of punishment) in this life and a double portion (of punishment) after death. And then you would have found none to help you against Us. ﴿ -(Surah al-Isra’a: 74-75). And Imaam Ahmad narrates in his collection of hadeeth “al-Musnad” on the authority of Jaabir, may Allaah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allaah, may Allaah’s praise and His salutations be upon him and his family, said, { Oh Ka’b ibn ‘Ujrah! Seek refuge in Allaah from the disgraceful rulers.” He said, “Who are the disgraceful rulers, oh Messenger of Allaah?” He said, “Those rulers who will come after me but will not adhere to my Sunnah and not be guided by my guidance. The one who affirms their lies and deceptions and assists them upon the injustice they commit, then these people are not from me and I am not from them, and they will not approach the cistern on the Day of Judgment. Those who do not affirm their lies and do not assist them upon the injustices they commit, then these people are from me and I am from them, and they will come to the cistern on the Day of Judgment. } 3  And I have mentioned this Hadeeth with its chain of narration in the second edition of the book The Authentic Connected Narrations Regarding the Signs Affirming the Messenger’s Prophethood, and its complete discussion can be found there.

8- To emigrate from the land in which it is not possible for the Muslim to establish his religion, or one in which he fears he will be placed in a prison of the unjust rulers who are truly “terrorists” and may be possibly be tortured beyond what he could bear.

9- To make supplications that Allaah shake the feet of the unjust rulers and that He place in authority over the Muslims the best of those from amongst them.

10- To stay away from the causes of separation and differing. And from the greatest causes of separation is the arrogance of some of the groups over others and their conveying of wicked statements. Allaah the Most Perfect and the Most High says, And say to My slaves that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaytaan verily, sows disagreements among them. Surely, Shaytaan is to humanity a plain enemy. ﴿ -(Surah al-Isra’: 53). And He said, The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allaah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. ﴿ -(Surah Fusilat: 34). Also from the causes of division is arguing and disputing based upon falsehood, as Imaam at-Tirmidhee narrated in his well known hadeeth collection on the authority of Abee Umaamah, may Allaah be pleased with him, that he said, {The Messenger of Allaah said, “A people have not gone astray after being guided except that they entered into the practice of disputing.” Then he recited the verse, “They quoted not the above example except for argument. Nay! But they are a quarrelsome people.” (Surah Zukhruf: 58).} 4 . Imaam at-Tirmidhee stated that this hadeeth was authentic.
