99 Characteristics Of Various Misguided Groups In The Muslim Ummah -02

This entry is part 2 of 5 in the series 99 Characteristics Of Various Misguided Groups

02. Among these groups are those who give significant importance to the societal and cultural affairs and situations in the Muslim countries, or what they have named “Fiqh al-Waaqi’a” “or the “understanding current affairs”. They go to extremes and exaggerate the importance of this while lacking insight, not placing it in its appropriate restricted position and status. In their contrived comprehension of this “essential knowledge” they have become arrogant towards the established scholars who stand upon the Sunnah, despite the fact that they themselves are the most ignorant people in relation to comprehensive understanding of the sciences and knowledge of the Sharee’ah, true complete knowledge of the current situation of the Muslims, and current Islamic thought and discourse. They themselves do not give importance to cultivating the correct fundamental beliefs, nor gaining knowledge, nor utilizing specific evidences directly taken from the Book of Allaah, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah, may the praise and salutations of Allaah be upon him, and the established Consensus of the Muslims. They wrongly explain having knowledge of current affairs as merely being aware of news and information related to societal and governmental issues, but fail to properly place and view this information in light of the guidance and evidences of the Sharee’ah.
